Short version: you never pay before you've seen your sign, we redo
it free until it's right, and if we get it wrong we make it right.
Shipping
Shipping is free and built into the price. No surprise line at
checkout.
Made to order. Signs ship in about 5–7 business days from the
moment you approve and pay.
Where we ship: the United States and Canada. Canadian orders may
be subject to import duties or taxes collected by the carrier — those aren't
included in our price.
Tracking is emailed the moment your sign ships.
Returns & refunds
Every sign is cut for one specific subject from one specific photo. It can't be resold
to anyone else, so we don't accept general returns or exchanges —
including "changed my mind" after it's been cut. Here's what protects you instead:
You approve before anything is cut. The preview is free, and we
don't touch steel until you say yes.
Free redos before approval. If the preview isn't right, tell us
what's wrong and we'll redo it at no cost.
Damaged in transit? Send a photo within 14 days of delivery and
we'll remake and reship it free.
Not what you approved? If the sign you receive doesn't match the
preview you approved, that's our mistake — we remake it free.
Never arrived? Tell us and we'll chase the carrier and make it
right.
Refunds, when issued, go back to the original payment method and typically take
5–10 business days to appear. To start any of the above, email

Cancelled before we cut? Email us — if your sign hasn't gone to
steel yet we'll refund you in full.
Terms
Your photo stays yours. By uploading, you confirm you have the
right to use the photo, and you give us permission to use it to make your sign.
Showing your sign off. We may show finished signs in our gallery
or social posts. If you'd rather we didn't, just say so — email us any time and
we'll take it down, no questions.
Handmade means small variation. Each sign is individually cut and
finished. Minor variation in finish, patina and edge character is normal and part
of the object.
Steel has edges. Signs are deburred, but they're metal. Keep
them away from small children and handle with care when hanging.
Raw steel will rust if it lives outdoors or somewhere damp. That
is expected behavior for a bare mill finish, not a defect. Choose painted
for outdoor signs.
Mounting is on you. Use hardware rated for your sign's weight and
wall type. We're not responsible for damage from a sign that wasn't mounted
securely.
Prices are in US dollars and can change, but the price you're
shown at checkout is the price you pay.
SMS / text messages
What the program is. If you give us your mobile number and opt in
— on our text sign-up page, at checkout,
or by replying START — STERN Customs sends you text messages about your order
(preview ready, confirmed, in production, shipped) and occasional
shop updates.
Consent is not a condition of purchase. You can order and be
helped without ever signing up for texts.
Message frequency varies depending on your order activity.
Message and data rates may apply — that's between you and your
mobile carrier. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Opt out any time by replying STOP to any message;
you'll get one confirmation and no further texts. Reply HELP for
help, or email sterncustoms@gmail.com.
We do not sell, rent or share your mobile number or your consent
to receive text messages with any third party or affiliate for their marketing.
Numbers are shared only with the messaging provider that delivers our texts, solely
to send them.
Privacy
What we collect: your email, the photo you upload, your dog's
name if you give it, and — for shipped orders — the shipping address you enter at
checkout.
Payments: processed by Stripe. Your card number never touches
our servers and we never see it.
Email: we send order emails through Resend. We don't send
marketing blasts, and we don't sell, rent or share your information with anyone.
Mobile number & text messages: if you opt in to texts we
collect your mobile number to send order and shop updates. Message frequency varies
and message and data rates may apply. We do not sell or share your mobile
number, or your consent to receive texts, with any third party — it goes
only to the messaging provider that delivers our texts. Reply STOP to cancel, HELP
for help. See SMS / text messages above.
Your photo is used to make your sign, and to show the finished
sign as described in the terms above. It isn't sold or handed to third parties.
Delete my data: email sterncustoms@gmail.com
and we'll delete your photo and order details, subject to the business records we're
required to keep for tax purposes.
Cookies: we use one session cookie to keep your order working.
No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
